‘Meeting at the Crossroads’ - Whole-Person Healing
My love of this system is deeply tied to my love of nature and seasonal living. I believe our inner rhythms are microcosms of the greater cycles around us: yin and yang, light and dark, expansion and rest. These cycles shape everything from our energy levels to our hormones, mood, sleep, and menstrual cycle. In my practice, I guide patients to realign with these rhythms so they can live fuller, healthier, and more connected lives.
Alchemical acupuncture, as taught by Lorie Dechar, weaves together the roots of Classical Chinese medicine, the insights of Carl Jung, and the wisdom of alchemical traditions. Unlike approaches that aim only to restore what was, this work supports us in transforming moments of breakdown, uncertainty, or life crossroads—times of loss, endings, or the “not knowing”, into moments of space and opportunity. My deepest intention is to walk alongside you in this, offering space to rest, heal and transform.

What to expect
-
The initial consultation is a chance for us to get to know each other and build a detailed clear picture of your overall health. We’ll talk about your lifestyle, your medical history, and the issues that are troubling you, as well as what you hope to gain from treatment. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about Five Element Acupuncture. After a thorough consultation, I’ll carry out a brief physical examination, before beginning your first treatment.
Initial consultation sessions usually last approximately 2 hours.

Each follow up session will start with time spent reviewing how you felt after your last treatment - each individual will react to treatment differently, so this helps me build a picture as to how you are responding to treatment. I will listen to your body’s feedback to help guide your needs, manage symptoms, and track progress.
Follow up sessions usually last approximately 1 hour.

I generally recommend beginning treatment with 4–5 weekly sessions, as acupuncture works in a cumulative way. The length of time needed for progress depends on how long symptoms or imbalances have been present—chronic or deeply rooted conditions often require a longer course of care. As improvements become more consistent, we gradually extend the interval between sessions to biweekly, monthly, and eventually seasonally. Acupuncture is also highly effective as a form of preventative medicine, supporting long-term balance and resilience. This transition occurs once we see that your results are stable between sessions.
