About Emily Greenland-Wright (MBAcC, LicAc)

My training

I earned my LicAc in Five Element Acupuncture at The Acupuncture Academy (TAA) in Leamington Spa, graduating with Distinction. A three year degree level qualification accredited by the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board. I previously spent two years studying the Five Elements approach, following a Master-Student style apprenticeship programme - a common Chinese medicine teaching modality. From March 2023, I trained under the close clinical supervision of Sarah Matheson, whose guidance and supervision continues to shape my approach.

I have previous experience supporting individuals undergoing cancer treatment, as well as those in recovery and their families, through my work with the Complementary Therapy team at Macmillan Cancer Care’s Horizon Centre in Brighton. Acupuncture can be very helpful in easing some of the side-effects of conventional treatments and supporting the emotional implications.

I am proud to be a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and adhere to their Codes of Safe Practice and Professional Conduct.

My approach

My treatments are collaborative and tailored to each individual—because every body is unique, and each healing journey reflects this. The essence of whole-person medicine is that it embraces every aspect of who you are. You are the creator of your own path; my role is to support, guide, and listen to the subtle signals of body, mind, and spirit, empowering you on your journey back to your authentic path and reinstating your natural capacity to heal.
Within the treatment room, time slows down. I aim to create a sanctuary away from the stresses and demands of daily life—a space where you are truly seen and heard, where every part of you is acknowledged and welcomed. It is a safe, non-judgmental environment, whatever you may be experiencing. Every crossroad in life carries the potential for growth and transformation, and it is often at these turning points that we benefit most from compassionate support and gentle guidance. In these moments, even what feels dark, broken, or painful can be witnessed, held, and shared.
Whether you are navigating hormonal imbalances, relationship challenges, bereavement, any form of loss or pain, I offer a space where healing and transformation can unfold.
If you’re ready to explore how acupuncture can support you, I’d be pleased to welcome you to one of my clinic locations across London or Brighton.

“Years of long-term pain left me feeling broken and disconnected from my body, but for the first time I feel more in control. With Emily’s guidance, I’m learning to understand and trust my body again. Acupuncture has not only eased my Endometriosis symptoms but has also supported my mental wellbeing, treating my physical and mental health as one. After just over a year of working with Emily, I can’t recommend her enough.”

My journey

My journey into Five Element Acupuncture began as a patient over 10 years ago. After years spent seeking answers for various digestive and women’s health issues resulted in me feeling emotionally low and wondering what was wrong; left without support or explanation I sought a different route to healing which led me to acupuncture. I remember coming out of my first appointment feeling ‘whole’, that I had been truly seen and accepted. My experiences mattered. As weeks and months progressed I found seemingly random improvements in my health - from sleep, to stress levels to digestion. Then over the long-term, I found my sense of self reaffirmed and I felt more authentically me, more grounded and with a greater capacity to hold life’s challenges.
It is this experience that fuels my practice today and the belief that when seeking help for pain - in whichever form; emotional, physical or mental, to be looked at as a ‘whole person’ and not a collection of symptoms or systems is soul-affirming and instills the notion that we are not broken, we are just viewing health through the wrong lens.
Having been diagnosed with PCOS myself, I am passionate about supporting women to advocate for themselves and reclaim control of their bodies, health and the care they receive. Conventional treatment for intimate health issues can often have complex emotional implications which take a toll on relationships and daily life; by incorporating women in their own healing journeys, I believe we can find compassionate routes of enquiry where women feel truly seen and listened to. I offer a gentle holistic approach to supporting individuals with a wide range of conditions including; Endometriosis, PCOS, PMS, PMDD, menstrual issues, fertility issues, hormonal imbalances and symptoms relating to perimenopause, menopause and beyond.
